We Believe the Church exists solely to carry out the work that Jesus Christ began while here on Earth. On the final day of Jesus' mission He declared "It is finished" and thus completed what He came to Earth to accomplish; to substitute Himself for the judgment of mankind. When Christ ascended into Heaven and sent the Holy spirit back the purpose of the church was established. We find in Acts 2 as the Spirit of God fell on the day of Pentecost that the purpose of the church could not be more clear. It was for the church to receive power to witness to the world of the work of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8).
Here at New Hope we strive to fulfill this mission in everything we do!
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the infallible, immortal, verbally-inspired Word of God - the finalauthority for faith and life.
We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three distinct personalities and yet one in essence - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a co-eternal being. Having the same attributes, character and perfections, the Lord God is the one God
Jesus Christ [John 1:1-2 ; Romans 3:24; 1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:24;1 Peter 4:5; Romans 14:9;2 Timothy 4:1]
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was man without ceasing to be God at any time and was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order to reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through Hisdeath on the cross which was a representative substitute-sacrifice and that our justification is made sure by His literal and physical resurrection from the dead.
The Holy Spirit [John 16:8-11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9]
We believe the Holy Spirit is on Earth and convicts the world of sin,of righteousness and eternal judgment. He is the supernatural agent in the regeneration, baptizing all believers into the Body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
Man [Genesis 1:26;Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3]
We believe man was created in the image of God but fell to sin and is therefore lost and that only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
Salvation[Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19]
We believe salvation is the gift of God, brought to man by grace, and is received byfaith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on the cross at Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
